My Photography

I am a specialist equine portrait photographer with an artistic approach to photographing horses. I know a horse is so much more than a horse, they are an emotional, sentient soul that provide us with friendship, therapy, achievement and opportunity. Horses flow through my veins and I believe they flow in yours too, a passion I hope to ignite in everyone through my photography.

As well as offering personal photoshoots where I view your horse(s) as a family member, I also offer commercial photography to equestrian professionals, stud farms and breeders; bringing with me the same creative vision to celebrate horses as living art. I aim to deliver my clients with photographs that are both beautiful and functional, I see this as making art that serves a purpose!

This only leaves me to say that great photography isn’t just seen, it is felt. As such I would encourage you to look through my portfolio with more than just your eyes and hope that you feel the joy for these beautiful animals as I do.

My Connection

This is Chester.
Of all the horses I have had the great pleasure to meet and photograph, he is, to me, the most beautiful of all.
I do not own him or loan him or share him in any sense but on an emotional level this is MY horse and I am attached to him above all others.
He has been the single most influential moment in my life. When I was 13 all I wanted was a pony but I ended up with so much more.
I gained a fierce friend in his owner, a little “not brother, brother”, a career, a partner.
I’ve experienced love and joy, loss and grief. Events that have undoubtedly shaped my life.
He has been the cause of my worst injury and been part of my proudest moments.
He’s brought me sanity and respite when I did not want to exist.
He has tested my patience, my courage, my skill and grown each consequentially.
I have grown from an angsty teenage girl to a self-assured young woman and all the while his face has been there offering a soft nicker over the stable door.
I am who I am because of Chester.

“Lotte joined the Hickstead team as the photographic intern in 2012, and was a real asset – she worked hard, took lots of great photos, both of the equestrian action and also behind the scenes, and we’re looking forward to working with her again this season.”

-Victoria Spicer, Press Officer Hickstead

“Can’t thank you enough for the fantastic photo’s, you are welcome here any time if you ever wish to take any more.”

– Jayne, Grays PRE Stud

“I have always wanted an equine photoshoot with my pony and I was very lucky to have Lotte come to my yard and spend the morning photographing us. She had amazing patience with my not so cooperative pony. I am very pleased with the resulting images which were promptly sent to me. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lotte to anyone wanting a photoshoot. The photos are lovely to have. Thanks again.”

– Sam
